Coir Fibre Mats

‘Coir’ refers to the fibre taken from the shell of coconuts, a hard-wearing, waterproof natural fibre with a unique resistance to salt water damage. These fibres are twisted into bundles, creating mats which effectively remove dirt, protecting your floor while requiring no special care or maintenance.

As coir mats are highly resistant to water, they do not absorb dirt, and so can be cleaned through simple shaking or vacuuming, and their hard-wearing nature means they’re also suitable for outdoor applications.

Our coir mats are designed for use in matwells, and so are laminated onto a sturdy PVC backing. This allows for precise cutting and ensures that the mat exactly fits the well it is created for. In addition, we offer rubber crumb backing, a material created from recycled rubber from automotive scrap tyres, allowing our mats to fit any depth of matwell. This increases airflow around the mat and encourages tracked-in water to evaporate.
